Democracy around the Globe: The Year in Review—2023 documents the process and the progress made by Kettering staff in the Democracy around the Globe focus area. Last year was marked by the development of the foundation’s new strategic plan, In Defense of Democracy. To support the development and implementation of the plan, staff worked to better understand the democratic challenges and tensions being faced by countries globally. This report explores what we learned and how those insights will help drive the work in 2024 and beyond.
