Anne Rose Osamba

With a background in journalism and digital governance, Anne Rose Osamba focuses on promoting the inclusion of youth and women in policy and governance, encompassing social accountability, budget tracking, gender-responsive budgeting, peace building, and movement building.
As the executive director of the Uzalendo Afrika Initiative, she helps mold leaders and works to empower young women to advocate for local implementation of global resolutions. She also serves as a regional collaborator and organizer for the Africans Rising movement. Osamba actively organizes young women to participate in regional processes, with her work earning her prestigious recognitions.
Osamba supports youth in engaging in peace-building processes and peaceful elections. And, as a member of the Mombasa Youth Assembly, she has influenced both county and national policy. She served as the first female cabinet secretary for security, cabinet secretary for ICT (information, communications, and technology) and innovation, and as a member of parliament. A member of the Governance Network in Mombasa, Kenya, she is the first female chair of the East African Youth Peace Network and a directorate member of the African Network of Youth Policy Experts.
