DAVID PEPPER: State Houses Can Be Vulnerable—Why We Should Stay Vigilant
In Kettering Conversations with Democracy Innovators, we explore ways to strengthen democracy, focus on positive narratives amid democratic crisis, and consider opportunities to build upon the strengths of our diverse communities and nation to make them more inclusive and equitable. During the September event held at the Athletic Club of Columbus on September 7, 2023, Nancy Rogers, Professor Emeritus at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, moderated a panel focused on the most urgent threats to democracy at the state level and what can be done to address them. The panel included: Maureen O’Connor, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio David Pepper, lawyer, writer, political activist, former elected official, adjunct professor, and former chair of the Ohio Democratic Party.
